Lexington police search for suspects in 2 robberies

Lexington police searched Monday for suspects in two separate overnight armed robberies.

The first robbery occurred about 11 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Laketower Drive.

A Donato's pizza deliverer was walking back to his car when he was approached by two white men, one in a gray hooded sweatshirt and one in a black hooded sweatshirt, Lexington police Lt. Doug Pape said. The men were armed and demanded money The victim gave them money and the robbers ran off.

The second robbery was at the Shell gas station on Richmond Road near Man o' War Boulevard. About 1 a.m. Monday, a black man 30 to 35 years old, set beer on the counter, Pape said. The man, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, flashed a small silver handgun and demanded cash. He then fled and might have gotten into a car, Pape said.

No one has been arrested in either robbery, Pape said.

Police have released surveillance footage of the robbery at the Shell gas station.
