closeAt least two people were injured Wednesday in a fire at a home at 1017 Spring Run Road.
Fire crews responded to a call about a possible rescue at 10:53 a.m. When they arrived, they were told there were people inside, Lexington fire Battalion Chief Harold Hoskins said.
Hoskins said two people had escaped the house, but firefighters found a woman unconscious on the floor inside. The firefighters removed her with the help of police Officer Keith Todd, Hoskins said.
Lexington firefighter Patrick Goltz was part of the crew that responded Wednesday to a fire on Spring Run Road. A woman in the house and a Lexington police officer trying to help were injured.
A fire on Spring Run Road in Lexington Wednesday produced heavy smoke and sent two to the hospital, including a police officer that helped rescue a woman found inside, a fire official said.

The battalion chief said there was mostly smoke damage in the home. He said a small fire started in a bathroom. It wasn't immediately clear what caused it.
