- Kentucky native James Best, also known as Rosco P. Coltrane, has written a book. The Charlotte Observer interviewed Best, who now lives near Hickory, N.C., about Best in Hollywood: The Good, The Bad and the Beautiful. Best dresses up in Rosco's uniform for 20 to 30 personal appearances around the country every year. Best was born in Muhlenberg County and orphaned at age 4. Of Best's time working on The Dukes of Hazzard, "The pace was grueling," he said. "But it was good money."
- Another fraternity at the University of Kentucky has been charged with hazing, according to a report in the Kentucky Kernel. Representatives from the headquarters of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity contacted the university to report the allegation, then came to Lexington where the local chapter was suspended. The university is investigating.
- Barbara Kingsolver discusses her new book, The Lacuna, with the Daily Telegraph of London. Kingsolver grew up in Kentucky and now has a small farm in Virginia. She said to the Daily Telegraph: it is "the life I grew up with and I like it."
- According to the Kathmandu Post, "the world's two best known fast food chains have finally arrived in Kathmandu." KFC and Pizza Hut have opened outlets in Kathmandu, Nepal. The president of Hotel Association of Nepal said to the newspaper: "I feel happy to see KFC and Pizza Hut in Nepal since I've been quite fond of them." KFC and Pizza Hut are parts of Yum Brands Inc., which is based in Louisville.
- The Daily Yonder visits Kentucky Dam in Western Kentucky. Julianne Couch visited the TVA-operated dam to better understand the workings of hydroelectric power.
