Body of missing woman found

Louisa: Search and rescue workers found the body of an elderly woman in the Big Sandy River Saturday, Coroner Mike Wilson said.

Florence Tkach, a 79-year-old Alzheimer's patient, had been missing since she walked away Wednesday from the home of family members she was visiting, Wilson said.

He said the body was found about noon Saturday at the Levisa Fork of the river.

The body was taken to the state medical examiner's office in Frankfort for an autopsy, Wilson said.
