Police search for driver in fatal accident

Police in Mercer County were searching Friday for a driver who fled the scene of a fatal accident Thursday night.

Mercer County Deputy Coroner Scott Moseley said a passenger in the vehicle, Kristine Taylor, 26, of Harrodsburg, died at the scene.

Kentucky State Police were called to the accident on Cornishville Road at 10:54 p.m. Thursday.

Police said the vehicle crossed over the center line and ran off the left side of the road.

The vehicle struck a wooden fence plank. Witnesses said the driver fled on foot prior to police arriving.
