Kentucky American announces grants for Raven Run, Wolf Run Creek

The Friends of Raven Run will receive $10,000 from Kentucky American Water for a new education center and laboratory at the Lexington nature sanctuary, the utility company announced Wednesday.

Construction of the center began in April. It is expected to be completed in November.

Also, the Friends of Wolf Run will receive $8,850 for a program to educate people about the hydrology, water chemistry and environmental issues associated with springs, seeps and karst systems along Wolf Run Creek.
