Letcher store robbed at knifepoint

The Double Quick Marathon convenience store in the Dry Fork community of Letcher County was robbed at knifepoint on Saturday, Kentucky State Police in Hazard said.

Just before 4 p.m., a male subject, after waiting for all customers to leave the building, pulled a knife from his jacket pocket and demanded money from the two female employees on duty. The employees complied, and the robber fled the business on foot with cash, state police said.

The suspect was described as being about 6 feet tall and weighing 200 to 225 pounds and from the late 40s to mid-50s in age. He had gray hair, a partial beard and a tattoo on the left side of his neck. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black hat and a dark blue jacket, according to authorities.
