Kentucky Theatre to host international film fest

The Kentucky Theatre will present Global Lens, a 6-year-old showcase of international filmmaking, from Oct. 2 to 7.
Tickets are $4.50 for all shows before 6 p.m. Evening shows are $6.50 adults and $5 ages 60 and older and 13 and younger. The theater is at 214 East Main Street.
This year's features from the library of the Global Film Initiative are:
Margaretta's Feast (2002, Brazil): The chairman's choice selection, it is a silent film with Brazilian music backing a "little-guy-against-the-world" story. Shows at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 2, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4.
Getting Home (2007, China): A construction worker travels to fulfill a dying co-worker's wish to be buried in China's Three Gorges region. 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2, 9:30 p.m. Oct. 4.
I Am From Titov Veles (2007, Macedonia): Three sisters try to get out of a dying community. 9:40 p.m. Oct. 2, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 6.
Mutum (2007, Brazil): The hopeless life a Brazilian farm boy is changed by an unexpected gift. 1:30 p.m. Oct. 3, 9:45 p.m. Oct. 5.
