They'll be making music before and after fireworks

This year's Red, White & Boom celebration benefits from the Fourth of July being on a Saturday. If that isn't reason enough to go nuts, the event has country music's champion party man, Hank Williams Jr., as its headline act.

Here's a quick rundown of the five country acts that will be squeezed into six hours before the skies ignite Saturday.

Holly Williams, scheduled to play 4:05-4:45 p.m.: See story at left.

Justin Moore, 5:25-6:05 p.m.: Arkansas native Moore's much-delayed debut album is set for an Aug. 11 release. But he already has made rounds at country radio with Back That Thing Up and scored points with fans thanks to I Could Kick Your Ass, a cautionary tale to all bleached-teeth-trophy-girlfriend-toting wannabe cowboys.

Keith Anderson, 6:45-8 p.m.: Anderson opened for Phil Vassar at the Lexington Opera House in 2008 and played a Rupp Arena bill with Rascal Flatts two years before that. Initial hits include Pickin' Wildflowers and XXL, although Anderson hit the country Top 5 for the first time in September 2008 with I Still Miss You.

Hank Williams Jr., 8:45-10:05 p.m.: A favorite of Lexington crowds for more than 25 years, Williams (Bocephus, to his fans) remains an electric mix of Southern rock and ragged country bravado. His new album, 127 Rose Avenue, already has produced one hit: the recession saga Red, White and Pink Slip Blues.

Halfway to Hazard, 10:35-11:45 p.m.: The name spells things out. Hindman native David Tolliver and Jackson's Chad Warrix formed a country-rocking duo, found a friend in Tim McGraw and released a debut album, complete with a country Top 40 hit called Daisy, in 2007. That same year, Halfway to Hazard was set to play Red, White & Boom, but its set was rescheduled because of thunderstorms.
