All the toppings are free at new Five Guys Burgers

Central Kentucky's first Five Guys Burgers and Fries is open at 2467 Nicholasville Road, between Pasadena Drive and Moore Drive.

The menu is very simple: burgers, hot dogs and fries, and peanuts to munch on while you wait for the cooks to make your meal.

Burgers come in regular and "little," with bacon or cheese. All the toppings are free, including grilled onions and mushrooms.

It's not too late to get a Taste ticket

Tickets are available for the Taste of the Bluegrass at 7 p.m. Friday.

The event, which benefits God's Pantry Food Bank, will be at Keeneland's Keene Barn on Versailles Road. Tickets are $65 and available at all Central Bank locations, Liquor Barn, Kroger and Joseph-Beth Booksellers, or by calling God's Pantry at (859) 255-6592.

Moveable Feast's moving benefit

Moveable Feast will have a permanent home soon.

The organization, which delivers hot meals to people living with HIV/AIDS and to hospice patients, has bought the former Nannies Soul Food at Silver Maple Way and Fifth Street, across the street from Shiloh Baptist Church. "It needs a lot of work," executive director Terry Mullins said.

To help raise money to renovate the building, Moveable Feast is having a fund-raiser June 6. The Belmont BBQ will begin at 4 p.m. at Conoid Farm, 2492 North Cleveland Road. Tickets are $25 in advance ($45 a couple) or $35 at the door. Call (859) 252-2867 or (859) 253-3233.

The flavors of the months

Jonathan's at Gratz Park, 120 West Short Street, is featuring themed menus in addition to the regular tasting menus this summer.

In June, the flavors of the Caribbean will be the focus. "Who wouldn't rather be in the Bahamas?" owner Jonathan Lundy said. In July, the American Southwest will be the flavor of the month. "The American Southwest is my all-time favorite," Lundy said. In August, the cuisine of Spain will be showcased.

Several small courses will be offered, and patrons are encouraged to try one or all. They are served 5 to 10 p.m. daily. The menu for June includes fresh conch salad; Jamaican meat pies with curried Kentucky-raised goat and tamarind sauce; sugarcane skewered shrimp with mango-mojito sauce; jerked queen snapper with plantains, peas and rice; and butter-rum pound cake with coconut ice cream.

Care for a cupcake or 15?

Brown's Bakery, 1397 West Main Street in Meadowthorpe, will have a cupcake buffet from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday. Sample 20 flavors — including German chocolate, Italian cream, red velvet, strawberry, coconut, and caramel. The cost is $10 for adults, $6 for ages 8 and younger. A to-go box of 12 is $12.99.

A cupcake-eating challenge begins at 5:30 p.m. The record to beat is 14, and the prize is $50. Call (859) 225-8400.

Wine tasting on tap at Dudley's

Dudley's, 380 South Mill Street, is having a wine tasting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, featuring wines from California winemaker Justin Vineyards. Included are cabernet sauvignon, sauvignon blanc, syrah, "isosceles (meritage)" and the dessert port "obtuse." Call (859) 252-1010.

Don't worry; llama's not on the menu
