Bourbon 'drought' to end

Knob Creek, the super-premium 100-proof bourbon, is about to flow again.

Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont will officially "outpour" the first barrel to end its self-proclaimed bourbon drought of 2009 on Oct. 29.

In July, the company announced in ads in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times that demand had been greater than predicted nine years ago when the bourbon was barrelled and rather than bottle it early (and short the brand's vaunted nine-year aging) dedicated drinkers would have to go without until the fall.

Bottles should be hitting stores in early November.
