    The Woodford County Conservation District announced winners of its annual Conservation Writing and Jim Claypool Art contests for the 2009-10 school year. This year's theme was "Water! Every Drop Counts." Ben Brooks, a sixth-grader at Woodford County Middle School, was the county writing winner with "What's Going Down in Our Creek." Grace Royalty, a third-grader at Southside Elementary, was the county Jim Claypool art winner with her piece, Turn Off the Water When You're Not Using It! Overall winners, division winners, and first-grade, second-grade and third-grade winners from each school will be honored at an awards program in the spring. Go to www.woodfordcd.org.
