■ The specials for Halloween weekend at Three Suns Bistro in Nicholasville are inspired by Vincent Price and his 1965 cookbook, A Treasury of Great Recipes. The menu includes roasted dates with blue cheese wrapped in bacon, deviled crab-stuffed mushrooms, Cornish hen with herbed stuffing and shallot butter, and chocolate mousse. Della's specializes in homestyle fare
If you're looking for homestyle cooking downtown, try Della's.
The restaurant space at 124 North Upper Street now is operated by Tom Morris and Mike White. The restaurant is named after Morris' mother, but it also "seems to suit the type of food we're selling," Morris said.
The "Della Daily" special is served weekdays and includes meatloaf on Monday, chicken and dumplings on Tuesday, chef's choice on Wednesday, roast beef on Thursday, and salmon croquettes on Friday. Soup, chili and sandwiches also are served.
"Sides are all home-style, and by that I mean lots of butter or bacon fat in them," Morris said.
Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Call (859) 281-1141.
Stone crabs arriving daily

Brown's cupcake buffet is back
The cupcake buffet is back at Brown's Bakery, 1398 West Main Street in Meadowthorpe. Ramsey's Diners are having a fall veggie festival. "We will feature certified organic butternut squash and organic sweet potatoes grown by Abell Organics Farm in Franklin County and Kentucky Proud broccoli grown in Williamstown," owner Rob Ramsey said. "We will have baked butternut squash every day, and either fresh broccoli casserole or fresh broccoli with lemon butter, and baked sweet potatoes or sweet potato casserole on alternate days." Saturday is the last day for Bluegrass Farmers' Market until next season.
