At Friday's Night of Literary Feasts, guests will have the opportunity to dine with one of their favorite Kentucky authors at a round of parties.
At the party hosted by Molly and Rob Lewis, cookbook author Maggie Green will show guests how to make a dessert recipe from The Kentucky Fresh Cookbook.
Dupree Catering is preparing that party's menu, featuring smoked trout and Kentucky Bibb lettuce salad with fresh chive vinaigrette; herb-crusted lamb chops with mint demi-glace; roasted new potatoes with garlic and parsley; Kentucky Proud asparagus; whole egg spoonbread with sweet cream butter; fresh strawberries with vanilla bourbon zabaglione; and chocolate truffles.

Wine & Vine Fest
The ninth annual Kentucky Wine & Vine Fest will be Friday and Saturday in Nicholasville.
On Friday night, the Wine Gala will feature Dominique Brousseau, winemaker at Chateau du Vieux Corbeau Winery in Danville, and other notable women in the wine business. Tickets are $50 a person, $90 a couple.
On Saturday, wineries and other vendors will be set up in downtown Nicholasville. The lineup includes Kentucky wineries, Kentucky Proud food, arts and crafts, Grape Stomp, live music, and the Run for the Merlot contest. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Wine tent admission is $25 a person. Indian cooking class
Seetha Subramanian will teach a vegetarian cooking class from 6 to 9 p.m. May 23 at Fayette County Cooperative Extension, 1140 Red Mile Place. Cost is $35.

A Cretan menu
Panagia Pantovasilissa Greek Orthodox Church will hold a Greek dinner on Saturday featuring a menu from the island of Crete. The menu, prepared by chef Jim Scalos, includes lamb shanks, baked chicken, moussaka, Greek bruschetta, Cretan lentil soup, Cretan salad and wedding rice pilaf. Featured vineyard is Talon Winery.
