Three Springs Farm in Carlisle is beginning its 16th year of community supported agriculture with its spring production. The first season runs May 14 through June 18 and costs $150. A six-week late summer/fall share will be available from mid-August through the end of September.
"The spring share will consist of weekly harvests of various greens for salads and cooking, various root crops, peas, spring onions, and other seasonal odds and ends. Our intention is to have a plentiful variety of our own production, without purchasing products (asparagus or strawberries) from other growers," owner David Wagoner said.
Half shares will not be offered this year, as the sessions are short, so Wagoner suggests customers team with family members or friends if a weekly basket is too much.
Deliveries are made to the parking lot at Temple Adath Israel, 124 North Ashland Avenue. Pick-up hours are 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Call (859) 289-2562 or go to Threespringsfarmky.com.
