Festival returns to familiar grounds
The Francisco's Farm Arts Festival is back at Midway College for a weekend of arts, live music, food and drink.
After moving to Equus Run Vineyard for three years, the festival has returned to the college at 512 East Stephens Street. Also this year, admission and parking are free.
Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Go to Franciscosfarm.org for more information.
Get a taste of what the Bluegrass offers
Sample food and drinks from more than 60 area businesses at the 34th annual Taste of the Bluegrass, 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at Keeneland's Keene Barn and Entertainment Center, 4201 Versailles Road. Founders' Day marks 20th year, but Lexington is much older
Celebrate the birthplace of Lexington at the 20th annual Founders' Day at McConnell Springs From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, marking the city's founding in 1775. The event will feature historic re-enactments and exhibits, live music, storytellers, contests and more. Concessions will be sold, or bring a picnic lunch. Admission is Free.
Masterson station Park hosts Dogs, sheep, artists
Border collies and handlers from across the country will compete at the Bluegrass Classic Stockdog Trial at Masterson Station Park from dawn to dusk through Sunday, Bleacher seating and concessions will be available, or bring a lawn chair and pack a picnic lunch. Also at Masterson Station, check out livestock exhibits; works by fiber artists; and learn about knitting, weaving, felting and more at the Kentucky Sheep & Fiber Festival.
