The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department is sponsoring a free, drive-by flu clinic will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at Imani Family Life Center, 1555 Georgetown Road.
The drive-by clinic is a way for the health department to practice dispensing a large number of vaccines in a short time which would be necessary in health emergency.
The Lexington Fayette County Health Department can give as many as 2,000 shots in a day, spokesman Kevin Hall said.
Advance registration is not required, but flu shot recipients will move through the process more quickly if they have filled out the registration form ahead of time. Download the form at LexFluCrew.com.

The seasonal flu shot is recommended to everyone older than 6 months old.
