More than three-quarters of Kentucky adults know about Kynect, the state's online health insurance marketplace, according a recently conducted poll. Only 17 percent of uninsured Kentucky adults, however, report that they have tried to get more information about Kynect.
Those are among the highlights in the latest Kentucky Health Issues Poll released Monday by the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky.
Poll highlights include findings that:
■ 70 percent of uninsured Kentucky adults said they have heard something about Kynect (pronounced connect).
■ About one in six, or 17 percent, of uninsured adults sought more information about Kynect.
■ Nearly one in five, or 19 percent, of adults living at or below 138 percent of the federal poverty level reported seeking more information about Kynect.
Kentucky launched Kynect, created under the Affordable Care Act, on Oct. 1, 2013. Since then, the state reports, more than 521,000 Kentuckians have enrolled in health insurance coverage via Kynect. Open enrollment in Kynect is underway through Feb. 15. For more information go to Kynect.ky.gov or call (855) 459-6328.
