CARROLL GOES 4-FOR-5 WITH A HOMER AND 6 RBI

With post-season hopes at stake, Kentucky opened its final three-game series of the regular season like, well, Wildcats. Sawyer Carroll homered, doubled twice and singled, driving in six as UK downed Mississippi 12-4 Thursday at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

    Ninth-inning homer spoils Pellegrini's debut

NEW LEGEND HITS FIRST PRO HOMER

Just when the Lexington Legends thought it couldn't get any worse, Hagerstown pinch hitter Tim Pahuta stepped to the plate. On the first pitch, Pahuta belted a two-run bomb in the ninth inning Thursday night to give the Suns a come-from-behind 7-6 win at dreary and drizzly Applebee's Park. FULL DUNBAR TEAM OUTPLAYED AS HENRY CLAY WINS AGAIN

Fluke schmuke. After Henry Clay beat perennial power Paul Dunbar in late April, the Lady Devils heard all of the excuses. The Bulldogs had five starters out, including four of the team's seniors, who were away on a class trip.
