  • Red Sox and Rays advance to AL Championship Series

    The American League Championship Series will be an all-East Division affair. The Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays closed out their respective division series in four games Monday and will square off beginning Friday in St. Petersburg. The National League Championship Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Los Angeles Dodgers starts Thursday in Philadelphia.

    Coaches support rule change to limit dates for fan nights

    Kentucky better enjoy staging its Big Blue Madness a week earlier than almost all other programs this year because UK might not be able to circumvent the rule on starting pre-season practice in the future. The National Association of Basketball Coaches has told the NCAA that it would support a ban on early Madness celebrations.
