Lexington: Integrated Engineering, a professional consulting civil engineering firm, was named Small Business of the Year Friday at the Commerce Lexington 2015 Salute to Small Business luncheon.
The recipient of this year’s Minority Business Award, Integrated Engineering was chosen among six different category winners as the Small Business of the Year. The company will now have the opportunity to be considered for state and national recognition through the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Founded by Harsha Wijersiri, the business started in 2006 in his basement. Today it employs 18 and provides civil engineering, landscape architecture and surveying services.
It is known for its storm-water design expertise. It is one of only two statewide drainage consultants for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and one of six prequalified storm-water consultants for Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government’s Division of Water Quality.
