The University of Kentucky is offering working people a chance to sharpen their business skills.
UK's Gatton College of Business and Economics is offering a Certificate in Business Administration course, with classes every Thursday evening for 10 weeks.
This course uses faculty and guest speakers from the college and offers hands-on experience.
Classes are three hours per session beginning Sept. 11 and continuing through Nov. 20. Individuals who attend all of the sessions will earn 27.5 course hours of continuing education credit and a certificate of completion.
Topics covered include power, conflict and negotiation in organizations; and essentials of marketing, accounting and financial decision-making.
The CBA is geared to people who work full time or are in graduate or professional school in another field.
"The course is designed to provide an understanding of business terms, practices, and tools to make informed business decisions," said Merl Hackbart, associate dean for administration and academic affairs. "The CBA program is open to all interested persons."
A discounted price for the program is being offered by the Gatton College if three or more participants register, with a $50 fee reduction on the second and third registrant from the same company.
