Farmers in several Kentucky counties are eligible for federal low-interest emergency loans to help with property and production losses stemming from the recent Central Kentucky tornado and Eastern Kentucky flooding.
Farmers in Madison County, where the tornado damage was most severe, and Clark, Estill, Fayette, Garrard, Jackson, Jessamine and Rockcastle counties are eligible to apply for the Farm Service Agency's loans. Also, farmers in Martin and Pike counties in Eastern Kentucky, which suffered severe flooding damage, also are eligible for the loans.
Applications will be accepted through January. Farmers should contact their local FSA county office for more information.
