New vehicle titles issued in Kentucky fell 23.1 percent in June compared with the same month in 2008, according to market researcher Cross-Sell.
During June, 9,199 new vehicles were titled, along with 23,891 used vehicle titles by auto dealerships and 19,872 used vehicle titles in private-party deals. Used vehicle titles by dealers were down 7.2 percent year-over-year, while private-party transactions rose 3.9 percent.
The company said the top-selling vehicle segments for new cars for the month were midsize cars, full-size pickups and compact cars. Top-selling segments for used vehicles were midsize cars, compact sport utilities and full-size pickups.
