Centre College: Leigh Ivey has joined the college's communications office as a communication fellow.
University of Kentucky: Nick Carter has been named the agriculture and natural resources extension agent for Fayette County. Diana Doggett, extension family and consumer sciences agent for Fayette County, has been appointed program director for the Kentucky 2009 Second Sunday Health Initiative Event to be held October 11.
Engineering
Thelen Associates: Senior geotechnical engineer Lee Czor has been named Thelen's Central Kentucky office manager for the company's new office at 125 Trade Street, Suite D.
Finance
Crowe Horwath: Ryan Taylor has has been named senior manager in the tax business unit of its Lexington office.
Fifth Third Bank: Chad Kobes has joined the bank as a retail licensed personal banker at the Nicholasville Road banking center. Beverly Wheat has joined the bank as a mortgage loan originator servicing the Main Street location. Michael Terry has joined the bank as a mortgage loan originator at the Nicholasville Road and Versailles Road banking centers.
Peoples Exchange Bank: Keith Roberts has been named retail lender in addition to his current duties as market development officer. Roberts is responsible for developing new business in Clark County and surrounding areas. Ryan M. Cooper has joined the bank as commercial lender for the Winchester market.
Unified Trust Co.: Patrick Meyer has joined the Lexington-based chartered trust company as a wealth management fiduciary specialist in the company's wealth management division. He joins the company from TIAA-CREF, where he served as a wealth management adviser, overseeing approximately $400 million in financial assets.
Health care
Lexington Clinic: Dr. Trevor W. Wilkes has joined the department of orthopedics-sports medicine at the Lexington Clinic Orthopedics-Sports Medicine Center.
Koffler Vision Group: Dr. Paul M. Karpecki has joined the staff. His focus is on corneal disease, in particular ocular surface disease and clinical research.
Organizations
American Chamber of Commerce Executives: Dave Adkisson has been elected chairman of the 7,000-member national professional association. Adkisson has served as president and CEO of the Kentucky Chamber since 2005.
Lexington Ethics Commission: Tammy Fagley, president of the League of Women Voters of Lexington, has been appointed to the commission.

Affiliated Computer Services: Connie Harvey has been named group president of the Business Process Solutions group overseeing ACS' commercial health care, insurance and financial services lines of business.
