Workers at the vast Toyota manufacturing plant in Georgetown have a new food vendor on site. SodexoMAGIC replaced Aramark as the vendor on Monday, said Toyota spokesman Rick Hesterberg.
"This came about by our normal business practice to periodically bid out our service contracts to businesses, in this case, food services," he said.
Stacy Bowman-Hade, a spokeswoman for SodexoMAGIC, said the company has begun operating in six locations inside the factory complex and will start providing catering and vending services in February.
Among the offerings will be a self-service deli, to-go options like sandwiches and salads, and a revamped salad bar that using color coding to help users build healthier meals, she said.
SodexoMAGIC is a joint venture between Sodexo and Magic Johnson Enterprises. Sodexo may be familiar to area residents as it provides food service at other Lexington-area employers like Transylvania University and Georgetown College.
