Lexington Hearing & Speech Center: Lori Shepherd has been named executive director. Shepherd was previously associate executive director for the school that teaches children with hearing, speech and language impairments to listen and talk.
Fifth Third Bank Central Kentucky: Camden Skidmore, an officer, has joined the bank as business development officer. Mike Ash, senior vice president, has joined Fifth Third Bank as the senior commercial banker. Ash spent the last eight years with Fifth Third in Central Indiana, most recently as head of business banking.
Republic Bank: Marcus Miller has been promoted to personal banker for the bank's Harrodsburg Road banking center.
Paso Fino Horse Association: Don Vizi has been named executive director. The hiring of Vizi coincides with the association's move from Plant City, Fla., to the Kentucky Horse Park.
Kentucky Building Materials Association: The following have been named to the board: Jack Coleman, Coleman's Home Center, Harrodsburg, president; Woody Graham, A.W. Graham Lumber, Flemingsburg, vice president; Freddie McWhorter, CBS Do It Best Home Center, London, secretary/treasurer; Joe Palumbo, Palumbo Lumber Co., Lexington, chairman of the board. The following have been re-elected as directors for two-year terms: Woody Graham; Dan Wilson, Wilson and Sons Building Supply, Russell Springs; Dan Oetken, Home Supply Co., Louisville; Tony Girten, Morganfield Home Center, Morganfield. The following have been elected new dealer directors for two year terms: Paul Gabbard, Malone Lumber Do It Center, Greenville; Eddie Masterson, Buzick Lumber & Home Center, Bardstown; Kevin Brooks, Future Designs Building Materials, Leitchfield. Bill Hoffeld, NILCO, Louisville, has been named an associate director for a two-year term.
Kentucky Optometric Association: Dr. Matt Burchett, an optometrist in the Eye Care Center's Lexington office, has been installed as the second vice president of the association's board of trustees.
Kentucky State Association of Insurance Women: Lydia Heathman has been named director of the association. She is an account specialist with the Kentucky League of Cities Insurance Agency.
American Folklife Center of the Library of Congress: Jean Dorton of Paintsville has been approved by the U.S. Senate to serve on the center's board of trustees. She was recommended to the post by Senator Mitch McConnell. Dorton is the community and legislative liaison and manager of advancement at the Big Sandy Community and Technical College in Prestonsburg.
Micah Group Energy & Environment: A. Gilliam Alexander Jr. has joined the staff as program manager of environmental services. Chris Robinson has joined the company as program manager for building health and optimization, industrial hygiene.
