Titles for new vehicles issued in Kentucky rose 19.8 percent in April compared with the same month in 2009, according to market researcher Cross-Sell. During April, 9,971 new vehicles were titled. There also were 24,448 used-vehicle titles by auto dealerships and 21,108 used-vehicle titles in private-party deals. Used-vehicle titles by dealers were up 3 percent, while private-party transactions rose 8.1 percent. Cross-Sell said the top-selling segments for new and used vehicles for the month were midsize cars, compact sport utility vehicles and full-size pickups.
