Residents of seven more Kentucky counties might be eligible for unemployment pay if they lost work or worked for businesses that were damaged due to the severe floods on May 1.
The state Office of Employment and Training said in a news release that the program now also applies to residents of Bourbon, Christian, Clark, Hardin, Henry, Montgomery and Nicholas counties. It previously was announced for residents of Casey, Lewis, Lincoln, Logan, Metcalfe, Rockcastle, Rowan and Woodford counties.
Farmers and self-employed people, who normally are not eligible for unemployment, also might qualify for this disaster unemployment assistance.
The deadline for applications, which can be filed at local Office of Employment and Training offices, is July 10. For more information, visit www.workforce.ky.gov.
