Commerce Lexington is asking Lexington residents and business owners to take part in a survey about updating the city's economic development strategy.
The business organization and the city have partnered with AngelouEconomics to re-evaluate the city's strategy. The survey will run through mid-July, and the strategic process should be completed by early October, said Chris Carucci, a project manager at AngelouEconomics.
The company visited Lexington recently and completed interviews and focus groups with key audiences including young professionals and major employers, Carucci said.
"Right now, what's really important is we're trying to get as much public input as possible ... economic development cuts across everyone in the community," he said.
The online survey seeks responses from both residents and business owners and managers. Within the first day, there had been 150 responses to the resident survey and 100 to the business survey, Carucci said. They will be available through mid-July.
