Keeneland officials announced plans Friday to modify its parking options for the fall meet, which begins Oct. 8.
The Gate 1 entrance, which is directly across from Man o' War Boulevard, will be designated for free parking, while Gate 2 further up Versailles Road will be for paid and valet parking. Gate 2 will have four lanes of traffic, each with a different pay option. They are:
■ Lane A, which will be for the "Louisville" lot. Those vehicles will park immediately on the left and be charged $5 per car. It is open to the general public.
■ Lane B, which is for clubhouse parking and available only to Keeneland Club members and their guests.
■ Lane C, which is a public valet option that costs $10 per car. Cars will be parked adjacent to the South Grandstand entrance.
■ Lane D, which will be open to the public for parking in rows 13 through 21 with a cost of $5 per car.
As part of the plan, Keeneland is relocating its tailgating section to the area next to Keene Barn and Entertainment Center, which is accessible through Gate 1. Keeneland officials said they will increase the number and frequency of shuttles to the area and also add betting machines nearby.
