The Kentucky Society of Architects on Friday presented building projects across the state with its annual Excellence in Architectural Design awards. Four projects were given honor awards, the group's highest distinction, and three were given merit awards. The group was chosen from 43 entries received.
Honor Award: Yew Dell Botanical Gardens Visitors Center in Crestwood, designed by De Leon & Primmer Architecture Workshop of Louisville.
Honor Award: University of Louisville Clinical & Translational Research Building in Louisville, designed by Arrasmith, Judd, Rapp, Chovan, Inc., of Louisville and SmithGroup of Detroit.
Honor Award: University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy Biological Pharmaceutical Complex in Lexington, designed by Ellenzweig of Cambridge, Mass., and EOP Architects of Lexington.
Honor Award: German/Carter residence in Louisville, designed by Michael Koch and Associates Architects and Planners PSC of Louisville.
Merit Award: Art/House in Louisville, designed by De Leon & Primmer Architecture Workshop of Louisville.
Merit Award: Belknap Bus Station in Louisville, designed by Arrasmith, Judd, Rapp, Chovan, Inc. of Louisville.
Merit Award: Gateway Community & Technical College's Boone Campus Center for Manufacturing Competitiveness in Florence, designed by Omni Architects of Lexington.
