The University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics is hosting a H.I.P. Conference, or Honesty, Integrity and Professionalism in Accountancy, on Thursday and Friday.
On Thursday night, the public is invited to join the students invited to the conference for a free viewing of the documentary Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room. The film will be shown in the Worsham Theater at UK's Student Center.
On Friday, Sam E. Antar, a convicted felon and former accountant, will make three presentations followed by question-and-answer sessions. Antar, the former chief financial officer of Crazy Eddie, helped plan a securities fraud that cost investors and creditors hundreds of millions of dollars.
Antar was a key witness for the government and today advises the government and others on white-collar crime.
His speeches, which will be held at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Student Center's Center Theater, are free and open to the public. For more information, call 257-1251.
