Louisville companies RJ Thieneman Realty Group and Seay Properties have teamed up and bought Franklin Square Shopping Center in Frankfort.
Thieneman-Seay LLC paid $16.5 million for the shopping center, which is on U.S. 127 near Interstate 64, according to a statement.
The center, which has more than 200,000 square feet, is anchored by Kroger, JCPenney, Office Depot and Hibbett Sports. Other tenants include Pier 1 Imports, Rite Aid, Starbucks, Radio Shack and Chakeres Cinemas.
The acquisition is the second outside of Louisville for Thieneman-Seay LLC; the first was Northcrest Plaza in Elizabethtown. The company said it is considering whether to expand further and is eyeing Lexington, Cincinnati, Nashville and Indianapolis.
