Pacific Pulmonary Services, a provider of home oxygen therapy services, plans to hire 55 full-time employees by the end of March for its Lexington call center, the company announced Friday.
The added work force will raise the total head count at the operation off Georgetown Road to 220, a hundred or so more than the initial employment when it opened in February 2008.
Doug Christopher, vice president of customer care for the company, said its investment in new technology has led to the need for more centralized support, and Lexington's operations were a perfect candidate to provide that to customers in the 20 states in which Pacific Pulmonary operates.
"We have some really great people," he said. "The culture of the Midwest has a very service-oriented approach.
Never miss a local story.
"They can relate to the patients, and the people they're talking to are either the patients or doctors or referral services."
The jobs are on the company's second shift, which works from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. They pay $13.50 hourly with benefits offered, and employees are eligible for an annual $1,000 bonus based on certain measures, Christopher said.
Those interested should apply online at Ppsc.com. The company is planning to stagger the hiring, Christopher said, with training starting in February and March.
