The opportunity to visit Zenyatta attracted a top bid of $10,500 in the High Street YMCA's auction that ended Monday.
An anonymous person from Missouri was the top bidder for the package, which allows four to six people to visit the Horse of the Year this summer and also take pictures.
Since Zenyatta's retirement after the Breeders' Cup Classic last fall, she has been out of public life. Lane's End in Versailles, where she boards, is not open to the ublic during breeding season.
The minimum bid was $3,000. Zenyatta's halter was also auctioned and sold separately for $2,100, according to a YMCA news release.
Overall, the YMCA's auction raised around $26,000 for the Y's annual campaign that allows it to offer financial assistance, ensuring no one is turned away from memberships, programs or services.
