Gap's stores at Fayette Mall are downsizing and moving to a new space, making way for trendy clothing chain Forever 21.
The latter has been one of the mall's most requested stores in recent years, marketing specialist Melissa Blackburn said.
"We get emails and phone calls all the time," she said of the store, which is set to open in November.
In the meantime, Gap is beginning its move to the space formerly occupied by Limited, which moved into a store previously taken by Cardboard Heroes, and Guess before that.
Never miss a local story.
Gap currently has Gap, GapKids, babyGap and gapbody in its mall space, each with a separate storefront. Once it moves into the smaller space, though, it will no longer offer gapbody. The stores will remain open throughout the move.
