Kentucky Farm Bureau has announced three finalists for its Farmer of the Year award:
■ Fleming County's Jere Cannon, who raises Angus cattle, hay and corn.
■ Caldwell County's Craig Roberts, who raises cows and calves, corn, soybeans, wheat and hay.
■ Green County's Jim Sidebottom, who raises dairy cattle, corn, wheat and hay.
Judges will visit the three on their farms this fall and will announce the winner at Kentucky Farm Bureau's annual meeting on Dec. 2 in Louisville. The winner will receive $1,000 and the others will receive $250 each.
The winner will represent the state in the Swisher Sweets/Sunbelt Expo Southeastern Farmer of the Year contest, held in October 2012.
