The 2010 annual report of Goodwill Industries of Kentucky was recently ranked No. 41 among the top 50 such reports by organizations in North and South America by the League of American Communications Professionals, a public relations industry group.
The organization, which has 59 centers throughout the state, was ranked alongside Fortune 500 companies including Louisville-based Yum Brands (6), Wal-Mart Stores (22), Coca-Cola (28) and Boeing (45). The top ranking went to the U.S. Department of State.
More than 5,000 reports were entered in the contest, in which they were judged based on factors including creativity, first impression and message clarity.
"Our staff works diligently every year to produce an informative and engaging report," Roland R. Blahnik, chief executive of Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, said in a statement. "Although the ultimate goal of our annual report is to provide transparent information about our organization, this recognition comes with a great sense of achievement."
