Bluegrass Community and Technical College: The following board members have been re-elected: Florence Huffman, attorney, chair; Annissa Franklin, Urban League of Lexington, vice chair; Robert E. "Bob" Rowland, retired Danville school superintendent, secretary.
BB&T: Matt Day has been promoted to officer and is an investment counselor in the bank's Pikeville office.
People's Exchange Bank: Les Jarvis has joined the bank as a commercial lender.
Frost Brown Todd: Edward A. Receski has been named member-in-charge of the Lexington office. Receski's practice focuses in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, energy and natural resources, corporate, commercial transactions, real estate, bank lending, economic incentives, equine, and workouts and restructurings.
Miller Wells: Garland "Andy" Barr has joined the law office as an of-counsel attorney. He concentrates his practice in the areas of government incentive procurement, tax-exempt debt financing, government entity defense, government relations, administrative law, commercial litigation, real estate and energy law.
Attorney Miles S. Apple also joined the firm. He has extensive experience in corporate transactions.
Bluegrass Chapter of American Red Cross: Laura Mays, an attorney with Stites & Harbison, has been named to the board of directors.
Women Leading Kentucky: Jen Shah, Dean Dorton Allen Ford, has been named board chair for fiscal year 2012-14. Nancy Atkins, Bluegrass Family Health, has been appointed to the board.
The Fayette County Mayor's Alliance on Substance Abuse and KY-ASAP Board: The following have been elected to three-year terms as officers: Drew Beckett, Fayette County Health Department, chair KY-ASAP; Larry Johnson, Partners for Youth, chair-elect KY-ASAP; Danielle Sanders-Jackson, Mayor's Alliance chair; and Wendi Keene, YMCA of Central Kentucky, Mayor's Alliance chair-elect.
Lexington Legends: Andy Shea, who recently completed his fourth season as general manager, has been named president and chief operating officer. Seth Poteat, who joined the Legends as a college intern in 2002, has been named general manager.
American Water: Nick Rowe, currently senior vice president of American Water's Eastern Division and a former Kentucky American Water president, has been named senior vice president, Central Division, for the parent company of Kentucky American Water. In his new position, effective Nov. 1, Rowe will lead the presidents of Kentucky American Water and six other American Water operations, which serve a total of 1.3 million customers.
