Toyota announced Wednesday a voluntary recall of more than 420,000 vehicles to replace crankshaft pulleys on V6 engines. There have been no reports of accidents or injuries linked to the issue, which can potentially cause "a sudden increase in steering effort," according to a Toyota statement.
The vehicles involved are certain products in the following lines: 2004 Toyota Avalon; 2004 and 2005 Toyota Camry, Highlander, Sienna, and Solara; 2006 Toyota Highlander HV; 2004 and 2005 Lexus ES330 and RX330; and 2006 Lexus RX400h.
Owner notifications will be mailed beginning in January. To learn more, go to Toyota.com/recall or Lexus.com/recall.
