■ Louisville-based Freedom Metals has acquired Bates Iron and Metal in West Liberty. Gary Bates, the former owner of Bates Iron and Metal, will continue as general manager of the West Liberty location. Bates Iron and Metal has been in operation since 2010 and has a warehouse for nonferrous metals and a yard for ferrous metals. Freedom Metals, founded in 1983, now has yards in four Kentucky cities: Louisville, Elizabethtown, Winchester and West Liberty.
■ Diamond Legacy Sports Complex has opened a new indoor sports complex at 2676 Cincinnati Pike in Georgetown. The complex consists of two 12,000-plus square-foot metal strand buildings. The full-service sports facility features a full turf floor for softball and baseball practices as well as indoor soccer, tennis and other sports.
