■ Shayne Brashear of Consulting Services Inc. has achieved the certification of Master of Special Inspections from the International Code Council. He is the third person in Kentucky to hold this certification. Brashear is a certified welding inspector and an ICC certified special inspector in structural steel, welding, masonry and reinforced concrete construction.
■ The Lexington Woman's Club has been recognized at the state level for its work throughout the year, and involvement and support of the community.
The club received the following awards: first place: large club arts-collaboration, large club home life-collaboration, large club fund-raising, GFWC club web site, and KFWC press book; second place: large club communications and public relations; third place: large club women's history and resource, large club domestic violence awareness and prevention, large club education- collaboration and large club conservation-collaboration.
The following individuals received first-place arts and crafts awards: Beth Hill, needlepoint; Judy Courtney, embroidery/shadow embroidery; Mary Kissner, quilt-miscellaneous; and Linda Lane, Basket Weaving.
