■ The Outdoor Advertising Association of America has honored Maker's Mark with the 2012 OBIE Hall of Fame Award. The OBIE Hall of Fame recognizes brands that have built an enduring legacy through the consistent use of the outdoor medium over many years. Doe-Anderson has served as Maker's Mark's outdoor agency for more than 40 years. Maker's Mark joins other iconic brands like Coca-Cola, Target and the Walt Disney Co. in the OBIE Hall of Fame
■ The Kentucky Pharmacists Association will present several area members with awards at the 134th KPhA annual meeting next week at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort & Spa in Lexington.
KPhA annually recognizes individuals from across the state who exhibit exceptional service to patients and their communities, continuously promote the profession of pharmacy, and demonstrate innovative pharmacy practice.
The following individuals will be presented with awards at the Ray Wirth Banquet on June 15: George F. Hammons, Barbourville, Bowl of Hygeia Award; Glenn Stark, Frankfort, Distinguished Service Award; Alyson Schwartz, Bardstown, Pharmacist of the Year.

■ Gregory R. Schaaf, an attorney with the firm Bingham Greenebaum Doll, has received the 2012 Outstanding Citizen-Lawyer Award from the Fayette County Bar Association. The annual award honors a member of the Fayette County Bar Association who has been involved in governmental, civic, charitable and community activities and has demonstrated a sincere desire to maintain and improve the administration of justice, the quality of legal practice and the quality of life for residents of Fayette County. Schaaf practices in the area of bankruptcy law and is a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy.
■ Margaret E. Cook-Newell of the Department of Nutrition and Food Science at the University of Kentucky has received the recipient of the 2012 Diabetes Educator of the Year award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Diabetes Care and Education Dietetic Practice Group. Cook-Newell, who teaches a variety of courses in the department, earned her Ph.D. at UK and is a registered dietitian as well as a licensed dietitian, certified nutritionist and certified diabetes educator.
■ Landrum and Shouse is among the list of Martindale-Hubbell Top Ranked Law Firms. This list includes U.S. law firms with 21 or more attorneys in which at least three of their lawyers earned the AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating, the highest possible rating an attorney may receive. Martindale-Hubbell rated 254,000 firms across the country, and Landrum and Shouse is one of the 1,000 that achieved this status.
■ Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky honored its top volunteers at the company's annual Volunteers in Place recognition ceremony recently. Established in 1994 to encourage volunteerism and to recognize employees for their efforts, TMMK's VIP program enrolled nearly 1,900 members who contributed more than 25,000 volunteer hours in Kentucky communities in 2011. Eleven TMMK employees were recognized as top volunteers in 2011. Each honoree was recognized with a donation on his or her behalf to a favorite charity. The awards ranged from $500 to $3,000. Bethany Kay Giordano, a specialist in the facilities control department at TMMK, was named the company's Volunteer of the Year for 2011.
■ Lexington Clinic's Ambulatory Surgery Center has been awarded a three-year accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Status as an accredited facility means Lexington Clinic has met nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care.
■ Jeffrey F. Lagrew of Atlantic Appraisal Co. in Lexington has been awarded the Appraisal Institute's MAI membership designation, which is held by appraisers experienced in the valuation and evaluation of a variety of properties and who advise clients on real estate investment decisions. Lagrew will be honored during a meeting of the Bluegrass Chapter of the Appraisal Institute.
■ Lexmark was named a leader in the May 10 Forrester Wave report. Lexmark was among the select companies invited by Forrester Research to participate in this evaluation of top managed print services providers and received the highest score possible for its strategy, MPS market experience, technology and solution ownership, integration with business processes, mobile printing and global delivery.
Lexmark also has been positioned by European-based industry analyst firm Quocirca as a market leader in the firm's 2012 report, Vendor Landscape: Managed Print Services. In the report, Quocirca stated that the company was a long-standing, well-established provider that delivers a suite of flexible and modular MPS services that allow the company to scale offerings to small and large companies globally.
