■ Minova Americas, a global supplier of underground mine consumables and technology, has announced the expansion of its manufacturing facilities in Georgetown and Marion, Ill. Additionally, its steel products manufacturing operation in Proctorville, Ohio, is moving to a new facility in South Point, Ohio.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new 7,200-square-foot, $5.5 million state-of-the-art powder production facility in Georgetown was Tuesday. The cementitious powders produced are used for various ground support and ventilation applications in underground mining operations.
The Minova North America head office is at 150 Carley Court, Georgetown.
■ Energy Management & Services Co. has announced a change in ownership. Wiley Hatcher, L.A. "Buster" Gray and J.O. "Joc" Carpenter will join current principal EMS shareholders Dale Honn, Shane Honn and Mary Smith as owners. Hatcher, Gray and Carpenter were principal owners of Universal Ensco of Houston. Hatcher will serve as chairman of the board and CEO, and Honn, EMS founder, will be COO. EMS is a full-service firm that provides technical services to the energy sector, specifically the oil and natural gas industry. The company, formed in 1989, has corporate offices in Versailles.
