Vinery, one of the top Thoroughbred breeding operations in Kentucky, has been placed on the market.
According to a statement released Tuesday by organization president Tom Ludt, Vinery owner Tom Simon, after meetings with his family and taking into account their plans and interests, has decided to put Vinery's U.S. division up for sale. No listing price has been released.
The operation, which has divisions in Kentucky, Florida and New York, includes state-of-the art stallion, broodmare, boarding, rehabilitation and sales prep facilities. Vinery's 440-acre Kentucky operation on Spurr Road stands seven stallions: More Than Ready, Congrats, Pure Prize, Limehouse, Pioneerof the Nile, Kodiak Kowboy and Street Hero.
Simon also has a stud in Australia to which More Than Ready shuttles. There are apparently no plans to sell that segment of the business.
