Lexington-based mattress maker Tempur-Pedic International is wrapping up the move to its new global headquarters.
The company, which previously leased space on Jaggie Fox Way off Georgetown Road, has built a 128,000-square-foot headquarters in the Coldstream Research Campus off Newtown Pike.
Brad Patrick, the company's chief human resources officer, recently told the Herald-Leader that the new headquarters was built around the idea of it feeling like a home for employees,
"Our current building, you can access it from four or five different angles and doors ... and people can come in and not see one another," said Patrick, who has overseen construction of the new headquarters and this move. "In this building here, the way it's situated, all the employees come through the front door.
"They'll get a chance to see each other every day."
Company executives told state officials last year they expect to add 65 jobs in five years there. As part of the expansion, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has preliminarily approved $8 million in tax incentives for Tempur-Pedic. The jobs are expected to pay an average hourly wage of $50, including benefits.
