CoventryCares of Kentucky, the Medicaid health plan affiliate of Coventry Health Care Inc., said Wednesday that it has renewed its contract with KentuckyOne Health Network.
KentuckyOne is a health care provider that includes the St. Joseph Health System and Louisville's Jewish Hospital and St. Mary's HealthCare.
Under the agreement, effective March 1, CoventryCares of Kentucky members may receive covered services at in-network benefit levels from nearly 200 KentuckyOne locations.
CoventryCares said in a release that those include hospitals, physician groups, clinics, primary care centers, specialty institutions and home health agencies in rural and urban regions across the state. The agreement brings close to 2,500 physicians into the CoventryCares Medicaid network.
In August, KentuckyOne said it was terminating contracts at all its facilities with CoventryCares.
Coventry is one of four companies hired by the state to manage care for Kentuckians enrolled in Medicaid, the federal-state health insurance program for the poor and disabled.
Last year, Coventry had given notice that it intended to terminate or renegotiate contracts with numerous Kentucky hospitals and health care providers.
KentuckyOne spokesman Barbara Mackovic said she had no specifics about the new agreement, only that the two health care companies "have been able to work out a new contract."
