Pamela Brown, the daughter of former Gov. John Y. Brown Jr., has been hired by CNN as a correspondent for a new morning program.
She will be based in New York, according to a statement issued by the cable channel.
Brown came to CNN after a six-year stint with ABC affiliate WJLA in Washington D.C., where she most recently worked as a Sunday evening anchor and special projects reporter.
"Pam is an outstanding reporter who made her mark in Washington, D.C., with exceptional coverage of domestic breaking news and enterprise reporting," Ken Jautz, executive vice president of CNN/U.S., said in a statement. "The passion in her work is evident, and we are so happy to have her join the CNN team."
