The Kentucky Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects will hold its annual conference June 28-29 in downtown Lexington. Keynote speaker: Stan Harvey, principal of Urban Collage/Lord Aeck & Sargent and project manager of the Rupp Arena Arts and Entertainment District. The KY ASLA Chapter will present the First Annual Grady Clay Community Vision Award to Lexington Mayor Jim Gray.
Saturday's conference will be at the Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning and will feature Evaluating Spaces, The Value of Ecology in the Built Environment, China — The New Landscape and Synergies in Education, Research & Practice. Priority registration is open for The Third International Forum on Sustainable Manufacturing on Aug. 9 at the Hilary J. Boone Center at UK. The event is organized by the Institute for Sustainable Manufacturing at the University of Kentucky.
The forum will bring together nationally and internationally known experts in sustainable manufacturing from industry, academia and federal agencies to examine advances in sustainable manufacturing at the product, process and systems (including supply-chain) levels.
Registration is $125 before July 10 or $145 after. The fee includes attendance to all sessions, coffee breaks, parking and lunch. A limited number of seats sponsored by the College of Engineering and the Institute for Sustainable Manufacturing are available for University of Kentucky students, faculty and staff on a first-come, first-served basis.
